SUBJECT: LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE FO OFF -LEASH DOG AREA AT SOUTH POINTE
PARK
The purpose of this LTC is to notify the City Commission that the Parks and Recreation Department
will be temporarily closing the off -leash dog area at South Pointe Park for landscape maintenance
and provide the turf an opportunity to recover from heavy daily use. The project shall consist of
aeration, fertilization and top dressing which will take approximately one week; the aerated and
fertilized areas will remain closed for an additional three to four weeks for proper recovery.
In the interim, dog owners will be allowed to use the open field west of Smith and Wollensky as an
off -leash dog area for the duration of the project.
The project is expected to commence Monday, January 22, 2018, and should be complete by
Monday, February 19, 2018, weather permitting.
