A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING
DADE COUNTY'S CERTIFICATION OF THE RESULTS OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH SPECIAL ELECTION HELD
ON NOVEMBER 2, 1993 AND DECLARING RESULTS
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, on November 2, 1993, Metropolitan Dade County
conducted a General Election, at which time the city of Miami Beach
authorized the holding of a special Election; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 93-20830 adopted on July 14, 1993,
Resolution No. 93-20831 adopted on July 14, 1993, Resolution No.
93-20832 adopted on July 14, 1993, Resolution No. 93-20833 adopted
on July 14, 1993, and Resolution No. 93-20834 adopted on July 14,
1993, Dade County Election Officials were authorized to conduct the
Special Election of the City of Miami Beach to be held on November
2, 1993; and
WHEREAS, Dade County's certification of the results of the
City of Miami Beach Special Election, sa,id certification being
dated November -1-, 1993, has been received and is made a part of
this resolution; and
WHEREAS, said certification reflects that Questions "A", "B",
"C", "D", and "E" as set forth below were
approved

electorate of the City of Miami Beach.'
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that said
Certification be and the same is hereby adopted, which reflects the
fOllowing results upon the questions:
A. REPEAL OF EXISTING CITY CHARTER AND
ADOPTION OF NEW CITY CHARTER.
SHALL THE EXISTING MIAMI BEACH CITY CHARTER BE
REPEALED AND REPLACED BY A NEW REVISED CHARTER
INCORPORATING A CITIZENS' BILL OF RIGHTS AND
REFLECTING THE GRANT OF MUNICIPAL POWERS

2(The five subject ballot questions have been lettered "A" I "B", "e", "0",
and "E" for identification purposes of this Resolution only and were not so
lettered on the ballot.)

AMENDED AND THE 1973 MUNICIPAL HOME RULE
POWERS ACT (CHAPTER 166, FLORIDA STATUTES),
WHILE RETAINING PROVISIONS GOVERNING
"CORPORATE EXISTENCE, FORM OF GOVERNMENT,
BOUNDARY AND POWER", "CITY COMMISSION", "CITY
ATTORNEY", "CITY MANAGER AND ADMINISTRATIVE
ORGANIZATION", "BUDGET/FINANCE", "ELECTIONS",
AND "INITIATIVE/REFERENDUM"?

COMMISSION BE FILLED BY COMMISSION VOTE WITH
APPOINTEE SERVING REMAINDER OF UNEXPIRED TERM
UNTIL NEXT GENERAL CITY ELECTION; ANY
REMAINDER OF THE UNEXPIRED TERM SHALL BE
FILLED BY A COMMISSIONER ELECTED AT SAID
GENERAL ELECTION; AND RETAINING PROVISION
