This petition is for a candidate seeking to qualify for office in the City of Miami Beach. The City Charter, under §6.03 requires the verification of 898 qualified and registered voter signatures in order for the petition to be sufficient.' Please verify signatures in accordance with Miami Beach Charter §6.03 and State law. Mark Samuelian filed intent to run for office on February 25, 2015. (Date the candidate filed the DS-DE 9 — Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository for Candidates.) The City Charter, under §6.03 requires the City Clerk to notify the candidate by 5:00 p.m. on September 9, 2015 whether the required number of valid signatures was obtained. Mark Samuelian reports that he collected the signatures of 2,068 qualified and registered Miami Beach voters. Pursuant to F.S. 99.097 (4), enclosed is a check for $206.80 (2,068 signatures x $0.10 processing fee) as advance payment for the processing of the petition. Granado City Clerk Enclosure: 64 Short Form Petitions with single signature and 253 Long Form Petitions with multiple signatures 'As per § 6.03 of the Miami Beach Charter, the amount of petitions needed to qualify is 2% of the amount of registered voters in the City, sixty days before the first day of qualifying. As of July 10, 2015, sixty days prior to the first day of qualifying as a candidate for office, the amount of registered voters in Miami Beach was 44,906. Hence, the number of signatures from qualified and registered City voters necessary to qualify by petition is 898.
