Event: Learn to Swim Registration
Date: March 4, 2019
Time: 8:30 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
Location: Flamingo Park Pool (999 11th Street) or Normandy Isle Park and Pool (7030
Trouville Esplanade)
Learn to Swim weekend programs are available to Miami Beach Residents ages 6 month and up.
Programs being offered are Aqua Babies, Infant-Toddler, Pre-School, Level 1, Level 2 and
Teen/Adult swim classes. The swim program will consist of 7 classes taking place each month
from April to September. Beginning March 4th participants will be able to register for whichever
month they prefer. All registration and payments handled through RecTrac, our online registration
and payment system. You must have completed a profile, no outstanding balance and verified
your Miami Beach residency in person at one of our sites(Scott Rakow Youth Center, North Shore
Park Youth Center or Flamingo Park) prior to the opening of online registration.

Event: Free Infant & Toddler Water Safety Program
Dates: Begins March 5, 2019 (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
Time: 10:00 a.m. — 10:45 a.m.
Location: Flamingo Park Pool (999 11th Street), Scott Rakow Youth Center Pool (2700
Sheridan Ave), or Normandy Isle Park and Pool (7030 Trouville Esplanade)
Water Safety programs are available to Miami Beach Residents ages 6 months to 5 years old.
We have expanded the program to include all 3 pool facilities. All registration and payments
handled through RecTrac, our online registration and payment system. You must have completed
a profile, no outstanding balance and verified your Miami Beach residency in person at one of our
sites (Scott Rakow Youth Center, North Shore Park Youth Center or Flamingo Park) prior to the

Event: Miami Beach Tennis Cup
Dates: March 5, 2019 — March 10, 2019
Time: 8:00 a.m. — 6:00 p.m.
Location: Miami Beach Tennis Center (501 72' Street)
Men and women ages 35-85 will compete in singles, doubles and mixed doubles tournaments at
the newly renovated Miami Beach Tennis Center, home of the 2018 and 2019 International Tennis
Federation (ITF) Young Seniors World Championships. This regional tournament is open to

players from all over the world and offers USTA Cat II and ITF RC1 ranking points. No ranking is
necessary to enter. In the past, the majority of ITF world ranking points have been available
exclusively in Europe. Now American players have the opportunity to climb the world rankings
without the need for international travel. More information about the Miami Beach Tennis Cup can

Event: Athletics Spring Registration
Dates: March 11, 2019 — March 22, 2019
Time: 8:30 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.

Spring registration for athletic programming begins March 11. Programs offered include mini-
soccer clinics and Travel Soccer Development. Accounts must be current to register. All

Beach residency in person at one of our sites (Scott Rakow Youth Center, North Shore Park

Event: The Big Serve Miami
Date: March 14, 2019
Time: 4:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.
Location: Flamingo Park Tennis Center (1200 Meridian Avenue)
Miami Beach Tennis Management will host The Big Serve at the Flamingo Park Tennis Center, a
community event which provides tennis instruction for underserved youth in City of Miami and
Miami Beach. Participants will receive a t-shirt, a racket and a group lesson with one of the tennis
pros.
Event: Rock Your Socks —World Down Syndrome Awareness Day
Date: March 21, 2019
Time: 2:00 p.m. — 6:00 p.m.
Location: All After-school, Teen Club and Play Time locations
Participants in the After-school, Teen Club and Play Time Programs are encouraged to wear their
most colorful, best and fun socks. Pizza will be sold at $1 per slice, with all proceeds benefiting
the National Down Syndrome Society.
Event: Art Galley Night
Date: March 22, 2019
Time: 7:00 p.m. — 9:00 p.m.
Location: North Shore Park Youth Center (501 72"d Street)
The City of Miami Beach will host an Art Gallery Night where our Parks and Recreation adult
program participants will display their artwork. Refreshments and snacks will be served.
Event: Surf Camp for Children with ASD
Dates: Meet and Greet— March 24, 2019 at Normandy Isle Park and Pool (7030
Trouville Esplanade) from 11:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m.
Surf Camp—March 25—29, 2019 at South Pointe Park(1 Washington Avenue)
from 9:00 a.m. — 2:00 p.m.
The University of Miami — Nova Southeastern University Center for Autism and Related
Disabilities (UM-NSU CARD) is teaming up with the City of Miami Beach Parks and Recreation
Department to host the 11th annual spring break surf camp for children with autism spectrum

disorders (ASD) Monday, March 25th through Friday, March 29th. Participating children will spend
the week focusing on swimming skills, basic oceanography, meteorology, open water surfing and,
most importantly, their own abilities. The educational component of camp will be held at South
Pointe Park and the actual surfing component will be held on the beach, adjacent to the park.
