SUBJECT: SOUTH BEACH TROLLEY SERVICE 9 PERATIONAL MODIFICATION
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to report that effective Thursday, February 21,
2019, the South Beach Trolley "Via 10 Street Loop" will begin operating along 11 Street as the
"Via 11 Street Loop". South Beach Trolley Loops "A" and "B" will remain the same.
The City Commission approved the route alignment along 11 Street on January 13, 2016 as
part of the Interlocal Agreement with Miami-Dade County for the South Beach Trolley service.
However, since its commencement in November 2017, this loop has operated along a
temporary detour on 10 Street given that 11 Street was under construction. Operating along 11
Street will provide a more direct connection to the Flamingo Park entrance.
The South Beach Trolley service consists of three (3) distinct loops: 1) "Loop A" operating in a
clockwise direction; 2) "Loop B" operating in a counter-clockwise direction; and 3) "Via 11 Street
Loop" operating in a "figure 8" configuration serving the Flamingo Park neighborhood and
providing a direct east-west connection between Alton Road and Washington Avenue.
Three (3) new trolley stops will serve 11 Street, at Pennsylvania Avenue, Jefferson Avenue, and
Lenox Avenue. Notices advising passengers are posted on existing 10 Street trolley stops and
on the City's trolley tracker application within the Miami Beach e-Gov mobile app.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
