SUBJECT: Rue Vendome Activation Grants
The purpose of this Letter to the Commission ("LTC") is to inform the Mayor and City
Commission that the Administration has launched a pilot program for Rue Vendome
Activation Grants (the "Grant Program") on Thursday, March 7, 2019. The Grant
Program, managed by the Tourism and Culture Department, will offer $1,000 grants to
qualified local businesses, to activate and bring engaging culture to that space.
The grant funds can be used for items including, but not limited to programming, artistic
elements, event supplies, marketing, and photography. Rue Vendome Applications can
be downloaded at https://www.miamibeachfl.gov/?s=special+events and businesses can
apply for a grant once a month until May 2019, with a maximum application of three (3)
grants, and three thousand ($3000) dollars per business.
Interested businesses, must also meet the following criteria:
• be in business for at least one (1) year;
• be licensed by the State of Florida;
• be a valid business, proven by a City of Miami Beach License or Miami-Dade
County Business Tax License;
• be physically located within a one (1) mile radius of Rue Vendome, proven by
address;
• be in good standing with the City of Miami Beach and Miami Dade County
• be able to provide a description and budget for the use of the grant funds.
Applications will be available until noon, Friday, May 31, 2019, with events having to be
completed by June 30, 2019. Funds will be disbursed on a reimbursement basis. Rue

The Administration sees the true potential in Rue Vendome and believes these Activation
Grants will help to activate the space and provide an opportunity for the local community
to continue to thrive, as has been shown with the existing success of First Friday's and
the Normandy Art Fair.
Marketing and Communications will be supporting the release of this grant application with
a Press Release and social media postings.
