SUBJECT: Drug Enforcement Administration 14escription Takeback
This letter to the Mayor and Commission is to inform you of the Police
Department's participation of the semi-annual DEA Prescription Takeback event.
Too often unused, expired and unwanted prescription drugs find their way into
the wrong hands, or flushed down the drain where they make into the water
system. That's why a safe alternative is important.
In partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration, on April 27th, 2019 the
Miami Beach Police Department will host two drop off sites for the safe disposal
of prescription medications. The addresses and times are listed below.
• April 27th from 10:00 to 2:00pm at the headquarters building, located at
1100 Washington Avenue.
• April 27th from 10:00 to 2:00pm at the North End Sub-Station (NESS),
located at 6840 Indian Creek Drive.
Anyone wishing to drop off unused, expired, or unwanted prescription medication
is welcome to stop by either site.
