SUBJECT: 2019 Holiday Lighting Program date
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to notify the Mayor and City Commission of
this year's holiday lighting program.
On July 26, 2017, Resolution No. 2017-29956 was adopted, approving the award of Request for
Proposals (RFP) No. 2017-077 -JC for design, furnish, install, maintain, remove and store holiday
lighting and decorations, City-wide (the RFP) to Artistic Holiday Designs, LLC (the Consultant) in
an estimated annual amount of $394,917.38. On December 1,2017, the current service level was
further enhanced to incorporate additional lighting of 41st Street to a total amount of $435,440.38
annually (year one). On October 17, 2018, the contract was amended to include additional
facilities and locations enhanced by holiday decor and lighting to the current service level of
$535,440.38 annually (year two).
On May 8, 2019, the May.or and City Commission adopted Resolution 2019-30816, accepting the
recommendation of the Neighborhood/Community Affairs Committee at its April 24, 2019 Meeting,
to increase the current service level to a not to exceed contract amount of $675,440.28 annually.
The Neighborhood/Community Affairs Committee and City stakeholders' recommendation
included additional holiday lighting and selective decor to further augment and beautify the city
during the holiday season. Due to the fabrication lead time for customized pieces, orders must be
placed by July 1, 2019 to meet the holiday installation deadline. The order for the City of Miami
Beach as an installation will be placed this week.
This item will be presented at the Finance & Citywide Projects Committee on July 19, 2019 for
review.
