SUBJECT: Addition of Biscayne Beach House to ity's Affordable Housing Portfolio
We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Biscayne Beach House, a multi-family property
acquired by the City on July 24, 2019 that expands the City's affordable housing portfolio to 89
units. The two-story, 4,883-square foot building is located at 795 81st Street.

The unit composition of the building accommodates families in need of affordable housing, a critical
need in our City:

The Office of Housing and Community Services has begun the process of determining tenant
eligibility for the City's affordable housing program. The City is required to follow the Uniform
Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act(URA) which provides important
protections and assistance for people affected by the acquisition, rehabilitation or demolition of real
property for federally-funded projects. In compliance with the URA, the City will provide:
1. Relocation advisory services: assistance with completing forms, explain relocation
rights, locate comparable replacement dwelling units, and provide guidance throughout the
relocation process;
2. Written notice at least 90 days before the date tenant must move;
3. Payment for moving expenses; and
4. Replacement housing assistance, rental payment or down-payment assistance to
acquire a comparable replacement home.
Please note that all households must meet additional eligibility requirements for moving expenses
and/or replacement housing assistance in compliance with federal law.
