Dear Honorable Mayor and City Commission:
The Transportation, Parking and Bicycle-Pedestrian Facilities Committee met on
Monday October 7th, 2019, and passed the below motions:
Electric Scooters
The Transportation, Parking and Bicycle-Pedestrian Facilities Committee
supports micro-mobility for the City of Miami Beach and strongly recommends
the below limitations:
• Limit to 3 companies
• Should not be ridden on sidewalks
• Use bike lanes where possible
• Users should be 16 or older
• Maximum speed of 15 mph
• Scooters are not to be left on private property
• Geo-fencing ability
• Explore option for liability insurance for riders
Better Bus Project
Transit Alliance provided a presentation regarding the Better Bus Project, which
included different concepts. The Transportation, Parking and Bicycle-Pedestrian
Facilities Committee recommends that the Mayor and City Commission support
the MDC-Ridership Concept.
As an advisory Committee, we would greatly appreciate your consideration on
the above motions.
Sincerely,
Transportation, Parking & Bicycle-Pedestrian Facilities Committee
