SUBJECT: Building Department adjusted services during the Super Bowl Experience event
period
Super Bowl LIV is expected to bring greater then usual traffic to Miami Beach including events
from January 25, 2020 through February 2, 2020 at the Convention Center.
The Building Department receives on average 150-200 customers per day at the City Hall office.
In order to mitigate congestion in the vicinity of the Convention Center district, I have asked that
the Building Department only receive customers at the North Beach Office, located at 962
Normandy Drive during this high impact event period of January 27, 2020 - January 31, 2020.
Customers will be able to receive the same services they do at City Hall from the North Beach
office, including (for this period only) dropping off plans for the 24hour walk through service and
as the Building administration area for customer questions and concerns. However instead of the
24hour turnaround time for the 24hour walk through, the turnaround time will be 48 hours to
consider the transport time of the plans from the North Beach office to City Hall and back. Plans
will be dropped off and picked-up from the North Beach office to alleviate traffic congestion during
this prominent event The 24hour walk-through will return to City Hall on Monday, February 3,
2020. All inspections and plan review services will continue.
