A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, RECOMMENDING, AS A BUDGET PRIORITY, AS
PART OF THE FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2027 BUDGET DEVELOPMENT PROCESS,
A RESTORATION OF THE HOLIDAY LIGHTING BUDGET TO ITS PRIOR
FUNDING LEVEL.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach annually provides holiday lighting installations that
enhance the appearance and vibrancy of commercial corridors, public spaces, and neighborhood
districts; and
WHEREAS, in recent years, the holiday lighting program has been funded at a level of
$700,000; and
WHEREAS, during the FY 2026 budget process, this allocation was reduced to $600,000;
and
WHEREAS, restoring the holiday lighting budget to the previously funded level will ensure
continued quality, consistency, and reach of the program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby recommend, as a budget priority, as part of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 budget
development process, a restoration of the holiday lighting budget to its prior funding level.
