BACKGROUND/HISTORY
The City of Miami Beach is proud to recognize the essential impact of our Public Works
Department, which manages infrastructure, facilities, and services that are of vital importance for
resilience and to the public health, high quality of life and well-being of our residents.
These infrastructure, facilities and services could not be provided without the dedicated efforts of
public works professionals, who are engineers, licensed certified and skilled landscapers, water
treatment, wastewater collection, stormwater, and solid waste employees responsible for
facilitating the functionality, delivery, and cleanliness of the City's services and other structures
and facilities essential for our citizens.

possible to efficiently address the needs of all who live, work, and play in Miami Beach.
It is in the public interest for the City of Miami Beach community to gain knowledge of and to
maintain a progressive interest and understanding of the importance of public works and public
