HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2026-34271RESOLUTION NO. 2026-34271 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO PRIORITIZE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $75,000, AS PART OF THE FY 2027 BUDGET, TEMPORARY LANDSCAPING ALONG THE 41ST STREET CORRIDOR. WHEREAS, 41 st Street serves as a key commercial and residential corridor within the City of Miami Beach; and WHEREAS, the corridor currently lacks adequate landscaping, shade, and visual appeal, resulting in a challenging pedestrian environment; and WHEREAS, temporary landscaping —such as portable planters, tropical plantings, and associated irrigation —can provide immediate aesthetic and functional improvements while long-term capital enhancements are planned and implemented; and WHEREAS, such improvements can enhance walkability, comfort, and the overall streetscape experience for residents, visitors, and local businesses; and WHEREAS, beautification efforts may also help support economic activity by creating a more welcoming and vibrant environment along the corridor; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire to take timely action to enhance the 41st Street corridor through the installation of temporary landscaping, in an amount not to exceed $75,000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby direct the City Administration to prioritize, in an amount not to exceed $75,000, as part of the FY 2027 budget, temporary landscaping along the 41 st Street corridor.
