HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2026-34273RESOLUTION NO. 2026-34273 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING MAY AS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH AND ENCOURAGING COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN ACTIVITIES, PROGRAMS, AND EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS THAT PROMOTE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AND SUPPORT. WHEREAS, mental health is an essential component of overall well-being, affecting individuals, families, and communities; and WHEREAS, millions of people across the United States experience mental health conditions each year, and many face stigma or barriers to accessing critical support and services; and WHEREAS, May is nationally recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, providing an opportunity to promote understanding, reduce stigma, highlight available resources, and encourage individuals to seek help when needed; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is committed to supporting public health, fostering community education, and encouraging residents to prioritize mental well-being; and WHEREAS, recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month reinforces the City's dedication to raising awareness and supporting efforts that promote mental health for all residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby recognize May as Mental Health Awareness Month and encourage community participation in activities, programs, and educational efforts that promote mental health awareness and support.
