A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A FEE WAIVER IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $33,000 FOR THE MIAMIBIZCLUB (EVENT TO BE HELD AT THE
MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION CENTER ON OCTOBER 10, 2026; AND
FURTHER, WAIVING, ON A ONE-TIME BASIS, THE REQUIREMENT THAT AN
ENTITY MUST BE REGISTERED AS A 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION TO
QUALIFY FOR THE FEE WAIVER.
WHEREAS, the Miami Beach Convention Center (the "MBCC") serves as a premier venue
for conferences, conventions, and events that promote economic activity, business development,
and community engagement within the City; and
WHEREAS, Miamibizclub dba Miami Business Club has scheduled a business -focused
event at the MBCC on October 10, 2026, which is expected to attract regional business leaders,
entrepreneurs, and industry partners; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Business Club has indicated that the gala will serve as a
fundraising event benefiting Miami Waterkeeper, a local 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to
protecting Biscayne Bay and safeguarding South Florida's waterways for future generations; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission recognize the value of supporting events
that foster economic development, professional growth, and business networking within the City
of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Business Club has requested a waiver of certain facility rental and
related fees associated with hosting the event at the MBCC; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire to assist in facilitating this event by
approving a fee waiver not to exceed $33,000; and
WHEREAS, although the Miami Business Club is a Florida not -for -profit corporation, it is
not registered as a 501(c)(3) organization with the Internal Revenue Service and, accordingly, the
City Commission desires to waive the requirement that an entity must be a registered 501(c) to
qualify for a waiver of usage fees at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby approve a fee waiver in an amount not to exceed $33,000 for the Miami
Business Club event to be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center on October 10, 2026; and
further, waiving, on a one-time basis, the requirement that an entity must be registered as a
501(c)(3) organization to qualify for the fee waiver.
