HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2026-34298RESOLUTION NO. 2026-34298 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO NEGOTIATE SECOND AMENDMENT (AMENDMENT NO. 2) TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING DATED DECEMBER 21, 2022 (THE "MOU") BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AND THE LINCOLN ROAD BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, INC. ("LRBID"); SAID AMENDMENT NO. 2 EXTENDING THE TERM OF THE MOU BY ONE ADDITIONAL YEAR, COMMENCING ON OCTOBER 1, 2026 AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2027, AND CONTINUING CITY FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $164,160 PER YEAR (OR $13,680 PER MONTH) TO THE LRBID FOR ENVIRONMENTAL MAINTENANCE, HOSPITALITY, AND SAFETY SERVICES WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICT; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID AMENDMENT NO. 2. WHEREAS, the existing Memorandum of Understanding dated December 21, 2022, together with its amendments, currently governs the provision of City funding to the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District, Inc. for environmental maintenance, hospitality, and safety services (the "Services") within the District; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 1 extended the MOU term through September 30, 2026; and WHEREAS, the City and the LRBID now desire to further extend the MOU by one (1) additional year in the form of Amendment No. 2; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire to direct the City Administration to negotiate a second amendment (Amendment No. 2) extending the term of the MOU for one additional year, commencing on October 1, 2026 and expiring on September 30, 2027, and authorizing continued City funding in the amount of $164,160 per year for the Services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby direct the City Administration to negotiate a second amendment ("Amendment No. 2") to the Memorandum of Understanding dated December 21, 2022 (the "MOU") between the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District, Inc. (the "LRBID"); said Amendment No. 2 extending the term of the MOU for one (1) additional year, commencing on October 1, 2026 and ending on September 30, 2027, and continuing City funding in the amount of $164,160 per year (or $13,680 per month); and further authorizing the City Manager and City Clerk to execute said Amendment No. 2.
