A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATION TO CREATE A PUBLIC CITY OF MIAMI BEACH
EMPLOYEE SALARY PORTAL TO INCLUDE A FIVE-YEAR SALARY
HISTORY FOR EACH EMPLOYEE FOR TRANSPARENCY AND GOOD
GOVERNANCE.
WHEREAS, Miami -Dade County and the City of Miami currently offer searchable
salary databases, providing residents with direct access to public information in a clear
and easy -to -navigate format; and
WHEREAS, transparency and accountability are essential to building trust
between government and residents; a new salary portal will give our community direct
access to public information in a way that is clear and easy to navigate; and
WHEREAS, Miami Beach residents deserve the same (or better) level of
transparency and accessibility as provided by neighboring jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, the creation of a public City of Miami Beach Employee Salary Portal
with a five-year salary history for each employee will promote transparency,
accountability, and good governance by allowing residents to easily access and review
employee salary information.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby direct the City Administration to create a public City of Miami Beach
Employee Salary Portal to include a five-year salary history for each employee for
transparency and good governance.
