A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATION TO COLLABORATE WITH THE ORGANIZERS OF
THE HOLIDAY OF MIRACLES HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE AND BOAT
PARADE ("BOAT PARADE") TO INCLUDE NORMANDY ISLES IN THE
PARADE ROUTE AND ASSOCIATED PARADE EVENTS, AND TO
IMPLEMENT A CITYWIDE MARKETING CAMPAIGN, IN THE
DISCRETION OF THE CITY MANAGER, TO PROMOTE THE BOAT
PARADE AND THE ASSOCIATED COMMUNITY WATCH PARTY AT
NORMANDY SHORES PARK; AND FURTHER, DIRECTING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATION TO COLLABORATE WITH THE NORMANDY
SHORES PARK HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION TO HOST AND
MAINTAIN EVENT INFORMATION ABOUT THE BOAT PARADE AND
ASSOCIATED EVENTS ON ITS WEBSITE, TO THE EXTENT FEASIBLE.
WHEREAS, the Holiday of Miracles Toy Drive and Boat Parade ("Boat Parade") is an
annual a celebrated community tradition organized by Jackson Health Foundation that is held
every December in the City of Miami Beach ("City") and neighboring municipalities to benefit
children and families affiliated with Holtz Children's Hospital, featuring decorated and lighted
vessels that traverse local waterways; and
WHEREAS, on September 3, 2025, the Mayor and City Commission adopted Resolution
No. 2025-33866 to direct the City Administration to cooperate with the organizers of the Boat
Parade for the December 6, 2025 event to expand the parade to include Normandy Isles and to
implement an awareness campaign and community watch party at Normandy Shores Park, and
to direct the City Administration to coordinate with the Normandy Shores Park Homeowners
Association to host and maintain event information; and
WHEREAS, the organizers of the Boat Parade have expressed interest in continuing to
include Normandy Isles in the parade route and associated parade events, thereby returning the
event's festive atmosphere and charitable mission to the City; and
WHEREAS, this year's parade is scheduled to take place on December 5, 2026, and
organizers seek to host a watch party hosted at Normandy Shores Park in order for City residents
to enjoy the event and support its charitable cause; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire to bring greater awareness of the
Boat Parade and to encourage community engagement and participation in charitable efforts
benefiting Holtz Children's Hospital; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration is hereby directed to collaborate with the event
organizers to implement a Citywide marketing campaign to promote the Boat Parade and the
Normandy Shores Park watch party, utilizing the City's official website, social media channels,
and printed materials, in the discretion of the City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration is further directed to collaborate with the Normandy
Shores Park Homeowners Association ("HOA") to host and maintain Boat Parade information on
the HOA's website, to the extent feasible, in order to ensure residents have access to up-to-date
event details.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and the City Commission hereby direct
the City Administration to collaborate with the organizers of the Holiday of Miracles Holiday Toy
Drive and Boat Parade ("Boat Parade") to include Normandy Isles in the parade route and
associated parade events, and to implement a Citywide marketing campaign, in the discretion of
the City Manager, to promote the Boat Parade and the associated community watch party at
Normandy Shores Park; and further, direct the City Administration to collaborate with the
Normandy Shores Park Homeowners Association to host and maintain event information about
the Boat Parade and associated events on its website, to the extent feasible.
