SUBJECT, Statistical Information Requested
Pursuant to your email request of December 31, 2008: "EXCLUDING THE HISPANIC AFFAIRS
COMMITTEE, please provide a statistical breakdown of the ethnic, racial and gender breakdown
of all city boards. Separately, please provide a statistical breakdown of the breakdown for the
land use boards (Zoning, Planning, DRB, HP). Finally; please provide census data for the ethnic
racial and gender breakdown of the Miami Beach population. Two last requests, if it possible to
get the same breakdown for the graduates of the City's Leadership Academy and for the City's
workforce. These statistics would be appreciated well in advance of the Jan 14th Commission
meeting on Board appointments."
Attachment 1 is the statistical analysis for the City's Boards and Committees as you requested.
Attachment 2 is the City's demographic overview from the City's 2008 Environmental Scan.
Regarding your request for the statistical analysis of the City's Leadership Academy, the City
has not collected the data needed to produce the report requested.
Attachment 3 is statistical analysis for the City's workforce

Breakdown of the City's Employees by Full Time/Part Time Status, Ethnicity and Gender
As of January 8. 2009, there are 1,971 employees. Full time is considered
anyone working 30 hours or more per week. Part time is anything less than
30 hours per week; these are Recreation Leaders and Pool Guards for the
most part. Temporary is anyone who is a seasonal employee (one year or
less), no matter if they are full time or part time. These are mostly Lifeguards
and some employees in Real Estate, Housing and Community Development.
