Nikki Weisburd is an attorney for the Transitioning Youth Project, a joint project of Legal Aid Society and the Guardian Ad Litem program that aids teenage youth in foster care. Ms. Weisburd has been with the project for three years and has played an integral part in the training of new dependency judges and volunteer lawyers. She wrote a manual for training volunteers to understand all of the issues facing teenage youth in foster care. Prior to her work in the foster care system, Nikki was an associate at Hunton & Williams in Atlanta and worked for Camp Twin Lakes, anon-profit camping facility for people with special needs. Nikki also worked on Vice President Gore's advance team in the early 1990's and worked on the Clinton/Gore re-election team in 1996. Nikki graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University and received a JD from Emory University School of Law. Nikki has volunteered for more than ten years as a camp counselor at Camp Fiesta, a camp for children with cancer. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Lehrman Community Day School and the Board of the Galim Chapter of Hadassah on Miami Beach. Nikki lives on Miami Beach with her husband, Randy, and their two children, Hilary and Ryan.
