Beatrice Hornstein Resume 11/20/2009Application for Position on
Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council
From Beatrice R. Hornstein
11/20/2009
To the Office of the Miami Beach City Commission,
I was pleased to hear that~there will be open positions in the coming year on our Cultural Arts Council and
would be very interested in meeting with both the Mayor and the City Commissioners to interview for this
wonderful opportunity to support and promote Miami Beach's strong cultural arts initiatives.
I have been a resident of Miami Beach since 1971, having raised my children on Palm Island until 1985, and
since then, residing at my current address on Collins Avenue.
After retiring from my professional career in 2001, I have continued to enjoy a lifetime of interest in the arts
with memberships in Miami area museums and frequenting the performing arts .
I have spent the better part of my life in Miami Beach and have watched and supported our City's
transformation into a major international cultural center. My personal life has always been laced with the
appreciation of the arts and culture, having spent most of my life collecting and admiring art and antiques, and
frequenting cultural venues. My business experience can provide for sound judgment calls in atl matters
having to deal with financial issues, while walking the fine line between keeping the "customer" happy and
making smart business decisions. I have no doubt in the positive energy and enthusiasm 1 can bring to the
City's cultural arts program , and I would love the opportunity to contribute to this City in a more meaningful
and professional role by putting all of my experience and knowledge to use for the betterment of our
community
Sincerely looking forward to the opportunity to speak with you,
Beatrice R. Hornstein
