Enclosed please find the City of Miami Beach Board and Committee application form and resume for your review. I live and work in the City of Miami Beach and with great enthusiasm I aim to serve my new community through the Art in Public Places Committee. As Director of External Affairs of the Bass Museum of Art; my goals are to connect the community with art through;_marketing initiatives and partnerships in conjunction with the museum's exhibitions, programs, and educational outreach. This role allows me to access the Miami Beach community with a hands - on approach to what the community is looking for in terms of experiencing art in the public realm. The criteria established by Sec. 82 -561 of the City Code states that members of AiPP "shall posses a high degree of competence in evaluation of art history, architectural history, art, architecture, sculpture, painting, artistic structure design and other appropriate media for display or integration in public places." My 20 years of professional experience in arts tutoring, public art, art committees, arts programming, curating, publishing, PR, art fairs, art galleries, auction houses, and design has given me qualifications the Commission is looking for in the members they appoint to serve on the Art in Public Places Committee. If appointed, I hope to act as a liaison to the community to ensure the Committee's success in serving the City of Miami Beach and its residents. I look forward to meeting with you prior to the 13 of January to further discuss my interest in being appointed to the Art in Public Places Committee, our Community and City of Miami Beach. At your convenience, I can be reached via phone (917.627.8892) or: mriley @bassmuseum.org.
