She retired as the founder of Sterling Public Relations in 2003. She is serving her second term as the chairperson of the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Authority and also chairs the Mayor's Blue Ribbon Taskforce. She is the Board Service Chairperson of The UM Miller School of Medicine's Sylvester Cancer Center and chair of the semi annual BeingWell /WellBeing community health conference. Her volunteer leadership commitments include ten years of service cis a Trustee of the University of Pennsylvania, five years as president of Penn's International Alumni Society, five years as chairperson of the Penn Fund, the international alumni giving program and five years as Chairperson of the Trustees Council of Penn Women. She has also served Penn as the founder and chair of Miami local alumni club, The Miami Secondary School committee, as an Overseer of the School of Veterinary Medicine, the School of Design, as a member of the Board of the Institute of Contemporary Art and as the Chair of the Penn Press. She currently chairs Penn Alumni's Admissions Resource Center. She received the Miami each Chamber of Commerce's 2010 Leadership Award Red Cross Spectrum Award, American Numismatic Society's President's Award, the Sylvester Cancer Center's Halpern Award and, in 2003, she was awarded the National Volunteer of the Year by the Association of American Colleges and Universities and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) with their signature award: "International Volunteer of the Year."
