He graduated from Northeast Louisiana State College with a degree in Building Construction. He has extensive experience in develop building and operating income-producing properties for himself and other investors. Beginning in 1970, when he became the youngest licen general contractor in the State of Florida, he served as Vice Pr Cohen-Ager, Inc., a major South Florida construction and development firm. In 1986 he became one of the pioneer developers of South Beach, redeveloping numerous Art Deco structures. Mr. Cohen owned and operated the world famous China Club in the Warsaw Ballroom and Tropics Jazz Club on Ocean Drive in the Edison Hotel as Miami Beach developed into a destination resort in the early 90Ès Mr. Cohen is a Florida Certified General Contractor, and a licen estate broker. He was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Real Estate Enterprises until Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell acquired his company. He has specialized in hotel sales in Miami Beach for the past 25ars and has sold hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate assets. His leadership has provided new and creative approaches to real estate acquisition, resolution of capital, investments, and management needs in today's business environment. Always eager to share his knowledge of the business with others, Cohen has been a real estate columnist and frequent real estate speaker and lecturer. He served on the unsafe structures board of Dade County and was a member of the Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board. He is also a past Director of the Miami Beach Development Corporation, as well as a past President of the Miami Beach Association of Realtors and the Commercial Board of the Realtors Association of Greater Miami & the Beaches Mr. Cohen has lived and worked in Miami Beach for the past 50 years, promoting the betterment of the city for most of his life.
