Advertising and Marketing. From image to branding,retail to online marketing;
Tropic is a full service agency with a broad client list and diverse capabilities.
On the entrepreneurial front,Tropic Survival has created and launched CometAds,
a groundbreaking online video ad builder,publishing and tracking tool. Described
by tech writers as"a genuine opportunity to brand a business that should be
seriously considered" and"a value proposition to merchants," CometAds became
profitable within weeks of its official launch in 2011. It's this type of tenacity that
makes an entrepreneurial effort profitable,right out of the gate and it is this type of
tenacity Sheila has exhibited her entire career.
In the 198os,first on Capitol Hill as senior professional congressional committee
staff,then as a journalist with CNN and NBC based out of Washington,D.C.,her
legislative work and investigative reports have resulted in groundbreaking
legislation and saved lives.
A 1981 graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in
Gerontology,Ms. Duffy-Lehrman began her career working in the U.S. House of
Representatives,becoming the youngest professional staff ever to the Chairman of
the Select Committee on Aging. She was responsible for oversight of all fraud and
deceptive trade practices,low-income poverty and housing issues. Her work led to
curbing abuses in the funeral,insurance and home healthcare industries.
Ms. Duffy-Lehrman came to TV news when her impressive investigative work on
Capitol Hill brought her to the attention of CNN's investigative unit. Her
consumer,health and investigative reports received national recognition,including

the GeorgeFosterPeabodyAward for producing an Emmy award winning series on
the accuracy of'medical laboratory testing,an Emmy for a documentary on trauma

Ms. Duffy-Lehrman's unique ability to make someone think and feel in thirty
seconds ultimately drew her to advertising and marketing. Her active involvement
within the advertising,marketing, and entertainment industries includes:

Affairs,during which she helped to establish the Florida Silent Witness
Initiative on domestic violence. She also spearheaded the creation of what
ultimately became a signature fundraising event-The Woman of Valor
Awards-celebrating the lives of women who make a difference in the South
Florida community. For several terms as co-chair of the Public Affairs and
Community Service Committee,Ms. Duffy-Lehrman was also instrumental
in overseeing the distribution of funds to various community projects. For
her efforts, she was awarded the NCJW 2002 MyraFarr Community Service
Award
• Co-founder, Greater Miami Chapter of the Order Sons of Italy in America
(1997-2000),inspired by her Irish-Italian heritage and lifelong membership
of this internationally recognized cultural,fraternal and charitable
organization.

• Momager&Volunteer,Love Lexi Fund and Komen Race for the Cure,
partnership in support of her Daughter,Lexi Lehrman and her Art Can

Cancer research.
In 2003,the City of Miami Beach Commission on the Status of Women honored
Sheila Duffy-Lehrman with it's Doman Forth KnowingAward for her charitable
efforts and professional accomplishments. However,if you ask her, she will insist
her loving marriage and three children are her greatest achievements.
