ne World Many Abilities October 2011 - Present
This program was inspired by the work of David New and Ability Explosion. Now part of the
North Beach Elementary School curriculum, this is a three-day program that educates students about
persons with disabilities of blindness, deafness and paralysis. The students are able to simulate a
particular disability, speakers are brought to the school and the event ends with a school-wide
assembly where the students discuss their experiences and what each learned.
Creator and Fundraiser, August 2013 - Present
Established at the University of Miami Ear Institute, this bank is the first hearing aid bank in
Miami-Dade County. This program provides hearing aids and equipment to children with hearing
loss who financially qualify. The bank also provides loaner hearing aids while the child is waiting for
a repair or replacement. Efforts to date have raised in excess of $25,000.

Born deaf and with a cleft lip and palate, Oliver visits both institutions regularly and serves
on panels with professionals to discuss his experiences with children and their families and answers
questions and concerns they have about their upcoming surgeries or treatment.
