Addiction Services Board, Chairmen of the Board
Miami Dade Board of County Commissioners –
Previously served on behalf of the Honorable Katherine Fernandez Rundle to address community drug
addiction issues and possible solutions. Currently appointed as a Citizen Board Member and board
chair. Topics range from funding concerns to pilot projects. Interact regularly with a wide variety of
interested community leaders from various civic, private and governmental organizations.
Instrumental in passage of Pain Clinic “Pill Mill” moratorium in Miami-Dade County as well as
significant Improvements to the Marchman Act. Meet with County Commissioners regularly to discuss
issues.
Kiwanis of Biscayne Bay;
President—
serve the organization in this capacity to assist in all of the organizations service related
activities and planning of future projects. Organization goals include funding college scholarships for
local students. I participate in monthly reading projects with third grade students at Santa Clara
elementary school in the Allapattah / Wynwood neighborhood of Miami. Sponsor of local high school
Key Clubs including Booker T. Washington Sr. High School in Overtown and Miami Springs Sr.
High. Assist in planning and implementing numerous charitable and fundraising events throughout the
year to benefit the originations goals of helping children.

I have traveled to Brazil on 2 separate occasions to lecture on the topic of drug courts and rehabilitative
Justice. I have lectured to national and local leaders as well as a live/video lecture to 45,000
underprivileged children living in local Sao Paulo Flavellas on this topic and have conducted numerous
interviews with various media sources in Brazil.

Created a program to create a new community service program to address College Preparation and life
skills for a group of 19 students at Miami Central High School.

Gator Lions Club Founder and President
(Founding 8/01-01/02) (Elected 01/02 - 05/02) Founded and
organized the first Lions club on a University campus in the state of Florida. Appointed and oversaw three vice
presidents, two treasurers, an executive secretary, a board of directors and 42 new members. I established plans
for future campus service endeavors including such causes as diabetes, blindness, and youth outreach. The
organization continues to provide valuable community service with over 20 current members.
