Dr. Long is Co-Chair of the Diana Nyad project which is responsible for selecti
sculptor and overseeing the construction of a monument to commema
Nyads historic swim from Cuba to Key West in 2013.
Amelia Earhart Statuary Hall Selection Committee
Dr. Long is Co-Chair of the Amelia Earhart Statuary Hall Selection Committee which is
charged with selecting the sculptor and overseeing the creation of a statue of aviator
Amelia Earhart to be placed in National Statuary Hall to represent the state of Kansas.
Amelia Earhart will replace the Senator John James Ingells.
Equal Visibility Everywhere (EVE)
Dr. Long is the founder and president of Equal Visibility Everywhere (EVE), a not-for-
profit which focuses on researching the underrepresentation of w
symbols and icons: currency, stamps, statues, monuments and memo
and national holidays. Her research has broughtnational attention to the fact that only
nine of the one hundred statues in National Statuary Hall in the
honor women. Dr. Long has been successful in securing authorization for statues of
both Amelia Earhart and Harriet Tubman in the United States Capitol. Dr. Long is a

Network. The show, which aired weekly, was a live call in show where listeners could
have their personal, educational, and parenting concerns answereDr. Long also
hosted a nationwide call-in talk show called Sins of Omission which focused on sexism in
the United States.
