» I am actually home recovering from surgery, but felt it necessary to respond to your
question. Throughout the day there are dogs unleashed on the Par 3. I see them most of the
day: in the morning when I get to work, at lunch time and at the end of the day. I am not
sure there is actually a peak time. It would be great if code could come out several times a
day.

>> Also, it is not just loose dogs. Many dogs are on leashes but they do ntheir business" on
our play field and the owners do not pick up after them. Imagine playing a game on the field
and children end up with poop on places other than just their feet.

>> I think it is also important to note that people just do not know that the parcel of land
in front of our parking lot is the SRYC play field. They still think it is part of the golf
course. I have had many discussions with people driving to the Youth Center and parking the
car in our lot and letting their dogs roam freely who argue with me that the land belong to
the Golf Course. I always talk to the dog owners when I see them. Some are very
understanding, but unfortunately some are notJ especially when I ask them to please pick up
after their dogs.

>> Before I left on leave there was a nearby school using our field as their track practice
field. Last year for several weeks groups of people were gathering on our field to do some
type of religious celebration. We are forever competing with the public to use a small field
that many had worked so hard to attain for the children that attend that SRYC.

» A fence is greatly needed) first and fot'emost to protect the safety of our children. I
also think I also think fencing the area would allow us the ability to use the field without
be,ing put into a situation of having to ask others to relocate to a different part of the
golf course.

>> I recall Kevin Smith and Ellen Vargas sharing a similar concern some time back.
Unfortunately 1 this is a great problem we have throughout the City which Commissioner
Weithorn has been very vocal about. Actually -the issue (in a different context) was a topic
of discussion during yesterday's Neighborhood Committee meeting. As an FYI, over the last two
years the City has issued over 900 violations for dogs off leash at South Pointe Park -
alone!

The board has recently made a motion to request the placement of a fence to enclose some of
the green space adjacent to the parking lot. Currently many dogs and adults walk freely on
the golf course and we are concerned about the safety of our kids if they are not within an
enclosed area.
