She has an extensive background in Musical Theatre, studying Dance, Music and Theatre since a young age. Monica went on to be a finalist on the American Idol on FOX and All American Girl on ABC. She has also been recognized for her talents in multiple national competitions throughout the years. Brooks, Interim City Manager 1:{;/A, .. · February 1l2013 / rv SUBJECT : Cultural Arts Council Vacancies Three (3) members of the Cultural Arts Council (CAC) are up for reappointment, their terms having expired on 12/31/2012: Beatrice Hornstein, Daniel Novela, and Marjorie O'Neill-Butler. At its regular meeting on January 3, 2013, the CAC voted unanimously to recommend that these three members be reappointed. One seat has remained vacant since 12/31/11. The CAC respectfully requests that the Mayor and Commission fill this seat as soon as possible . Adhering to the guidelines set forth in the Ordinance establishing the CAC, a Nominating Committee was convened on January 17, 2013 to review and screen interested candidates for this position. The City Clerk's Office provided the Nominating Committee with nine (9) applications for the vacant seat, including two (2) applicants who were vetted and recommended by the CAC for this seat last year, Oliver Oberhauser and Elizabeth Pines . All of the applicants were invited via e-mail to attend the Nominating Committee meeting, but only one attended , Ms. Monica Minagorri. · Pursuant to Section 2-55(d) of Ordinance No . 97~3075, as amended, establishing the Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council (CAC), "vacancies on the Council shall be filled by the Mayor and City Commission. Further, "the individual members of the City Commission may supplement the Council 's suggested list with additional names of candidates or, if neither the candidates on the Council's suggested list nor the additional names submitted by the individual members of the City Commission are approved, the Council shall submit an entirely different list" for consideration . The Nominating Committee unanimously agreed to submit Monica Minagorri , Oliver Oberhauser and Elizabeth Pines for consideration by the Mayor and Commission for the vacant CAC seat.
