Councilman Dr. Haber requested a status report 10/5/77
re: Fontainebleau Hotel 1965/65 delinquent taxes,
and City Atty. advised the litigation remained
status quo, pending conclusion of the bankruptcy
proceeding. He said that, per Council's direc-
tions, he had held a meeting with Mr. Novack and
City Mgr. concerning the $272,502.83 delinquent
taxes (which included interest), but that City
Mgr. indicated he was not disposed to accepting
the $75,000.00 offer of settlement that had

been made by Mr. Novack. Councilman Dr. Haber
stated he wanted some vigorous action taken,
and that if there was no progress within the
next 2 weeks, he would move that a special
counsel be appointed to take over the matter. 10/5/77
