V. M. Haber requested that water patrol not be 11/19/75
discontinued as per statement contained in re-
cent newspaper article. City Mgr. advised that
no action has been taken in this regard but is
being considered during Admin. discussions of
1976-76 budget reductions. V.M. Haber requested
City Mgr. to issue clarifying statement for
public information.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
Appearance of Mrs. Walter Mead, President of
M. B. Taxpayers Assoc. to present a resolution
requesting Council's creation of a Police
Advisory Committee. Request for creation of
7 -member Committee presented. City Mgr. and
Police Chief to provide written report on
request.
Discussion on creation of a Police -Citizen
Liaison Brd. Requested by Councilman Spaet.
Motion to hold public hearing, failed of pas-
sage. Admin. and Police Chief to meet with
M.B. Taxpayer's Assn. representatives for
clarification of proposal.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
In reply to Councilman Meyerson's question re:
possible claim for $162,000 confiscated by MB
Police Dept., Mr. Spence said that Mr. Wanick
has advised that he has assigned one of his
Assistants to pursue the matter. Mr. Wanick
said that City has lodged formal claim and
Courts will have to decide who is rightful
owner of money.
Re. BAC recommendation #7, that an extra-
ordinary allocation of $165,000 be added to
bring Police fleet up to standard. City Mgr.
directed to include in Budget. (P.8-14)
