Commissioner Friedman commended Police Chief 1/17/79
and Police Dept. on their handling of recent
controversy concerning Knoetze-Sharkey bout.
Mr. Allen Weiss appeared and complained about 2/7/79
drunks and panhandlers on 5th St. and Lincoln
Rd. and suggested that several plainclothes
officers be placed in those areas to alleviate
the problem.

ditional Police coverage in Parks. Mr. Mack
Helfman appeared and requested, 1) continuation
of weekend assignment of additional police in

assi ment of foot patrolmen in Lummus Park,
to errirorce laws and issue tickets where neces-
sary to insure protection of park users.

Certificate of appreciation presented to 5/16/79
Mr. Laurie Holtz for his donation of a boat
to C.M.B. to be used in Police Marine Patrol
Program. Res. #79-15911 adopted, approving
transfer of title of one 1972 IMP "Inca" boat,
Serial No. KL 231387, to C.M.B. at no cost to
City, for use as part of Police Marine Patrol
program, further, indemnifying and holding
harmless the donor, Mr. Laurie Holtz, for all

arising out of use of vessel by City. (See

City Mgr. invited Commission and public to in- 6/6/79
spect new City vehicles --two police cars
(painting of which were result of suggestions
received from Mayor and Commission for high
visability vehicles) and Youth Center bus.
