Mr. Abe Marcus appeared and requested that
dances be held seven days a week and that
curtailment to five days not be instituted.
Parks & Rec Director explained that budget
shortfall has necessitated reduction in staff,
and reduced schedule will be in effect this
coming weekend. Mr. Lou Karns appeared and
referred to a petition (not submitted to City
Clerk) with signatures of persons who would
be willing to pay a nominal fee of 25 per
event, so as to continue daily dances. Parks

of proposed nominal charge in order not to

Memo #5791, status report on Community Center
activities and fee structure. Admin's recom-
mendation to 1) eliminate use of community cen-
ter passes for remainder of fiscal year, 2) re-
duce live bands to three nights per week and
use records for remaining 4 nights for dances;
3) charge 25 admission per person, beginning
with July 17, 1976, approved. Admin. directed
to explore rate structure for tourists and visi-

Mr. Arnold Leon complained about reduction of 9/15/76
events where live music is provided.
Council approved issuance of annual permit
for $2.50 for persons over 65 who are bona
fide residents; approved 25 admission fee
for all other residents; and $1.00 admission
fee for non-residents. Fees applicable to
all entertainment.
