Councilman Sahl. City Atty. advised of hearings
before Judge Popper on June 23 on a motion to
terminate the bonds posted by the landlord -plain-
tiffs, and to enforce the mandate of the Third
District Court of Appeal. City Atty. advised of
receipt of a notice to appeal to Supreme Court,
by Atty. Marion Sibley. Mr. Harry Plissner ap-
peared, advised he had reported violations of Rent
Control Ord. - not satisfied with action taken by
Director. Councilman Dr. Haber requested procedures
be established for tenants who feel they have been
harassed, Rent Control Director can take necessary
steps to prosecute; if complaint is deemed by Di-
rector not to be a violation, he can suggest to
complainant what steps can be taken. 6/18/75

Councilman Sahl suggested a Landlord's and Tenant's
Bill of Rights be posted in all buildings under
Rent Control. 6/18/75
Appearance of Mr. Murray Gold, President of M.B. 6/18/75
/Recer1t Assn. to request amendment to Rent Control
Ord. which would exempt hotels and motels from
the provisions thereof, (set by Council 6/4/75).
Presentation made by Mr. Gold. City Atty. rendered
opinion to effect that when matter is in litigation,
Council should maintain hands-off policy. Mr. Gold
to meet with City Mgr. and Rent Control Director
concerning his request.
