Motion to call public hearing per Admin:s recommendation, was superseded by a motion to defer so as to await results of pending lawsuits, which carried. Motion to reconsider motion to defer, carried. Discussion held. City Atty. reiterated opinion that once a matter is in the courts, the Council should adopt a hands-off policy. A new motion to defer carried. 4/28/76 RENT CONTROL 42 Date Judge Eugene Weiss, representing MB Apartment 4/28/76 Assoc., appeared and contended that emergency no longer exists, and requested that rent con- trol be abolished. No action taken by Council. Mayor Rosen advised that request would be taken under consideration. For information of interested persons in au- 5/5/76 dience, Mayor Rosen advised that this matter was not scheduled to be heard; that rent con- trol was still in effect; that when the matter is scheduled for consideration, ample public notice will be given.
