recommendation, was superseded by a motion to
defer so as to await results of pending lawsuits,

reiterated opinion that once a matter is in the
courts, the Council should adopt a hands-off

Assoc., appeared and contended that emergency
no longer exists, and requested that rent con-
trol be abolished. No action taken by Council.
Mayor Rosen advised that request would be taken
under consideration.

was not scheduled to be heard; that rent con-
trol was still in effect; that when the matter
is scheduled for consideration, ample public
