Prisoners's Meals (Contracts)_June 1973 to June 197414 PRISONERS' MEALS (CONTRACTS) Meeting Date Councilman Dr. Haber requested Council be furnished add'l informa- tion re. number of prisoners' meals served and cost thereof. 6/6/73 Memo. #4150 -no action taken on request for increase in rates for prisoners'meals. 9/5/73 Councilman Dr. Haber requested investiga- tion be made re. inferior food reportedly being served by contractor to prisoners. Note: Adm. report filed with records of this meeting. 4/3/74 PRISONERS' MEALS (CONTRACTS) Meeting Date Request by Mr. M. Rodriguez, owner of Manny's Restaurant, 1670 Meridian Court, for consideration of increasing food prices as listed in existing contract for prisoners' meals. City Atty. instructed to consider problem and report back at 5/15/74 meeting with recommendation as to how contractor can legally be given some relief. Mr. Robt. Turchin (private citizen) appeared and said since City has legal problem which cannot be resolved at this meeting, he and 'Mr. Harry Singer would assist Mr. Rodriguez by assuming one month's losses. 5/1/74 PRISONERS' MEALS (CONTRACTS 15 Meeting Dated 6 Council voted to accept cancellation of contract with M. Rodriguez to furnish food to prisoners in City jail, effec. 6/30/74, as recommended by City Atty. Administration directed to call for bids w/shorter contract term. Mayor Hall suggested new specs include provision for an escalation and possibly a de- escalation clause. 5/15/74 Res.#74-14394 adopted, authorizing award 6/19/74 of Prisoner's meals contract for 1 -yr. (7/1/74-6/30/75);Bid #92-74, to Jerry's Caterers, Inc. (Memo #4602)
