Requested authorization to hire real estate
consultant/negotiator to represent City in
negotiations with hotel developer. Res.
#76-15108 adopted, authorizing employment of
firm of Cushman & Wakefield to represent
City in negotiations with hotel developer,
at a fee not to exceed $10,000, to be funded
from Unclassified Acct. No. 2931 - Studies
& Reports. Council voted that City Mgr's
Hotel Technical Advisory Committee continue
as a review body in development of this
project.

Requested authorization to send out requests
for proposals to prospective hotel developers
to build hotels in Air Rights over Cony. Center
Complex, (deferred from 11/19/75). Admin. au-
thorized to advertise. V. M. Haber requested
Admin. to ascertain whether the agreement with
Hodgins, Thompson, Ball & Assoc., included the
utilization of their expertise for the purpose
of analyzing bids that will be received. Con-
sideration of bids received on 12/8/75, for
lease or sale of air rights over 2 Municipal
Parking Lots on Collins Ave., at 6th & llth
Streets, for Low Income Housing (deferred from
11/5/75). Council determined that National
Council of Senior Citizens and B'nai B'rith

were equally qualified to undertake project,
but placed National Council of Senior Citizens
as No. 1 in recommending them to HUD, because
of its better monetary proposal. Res.
#75-14894 adopted.
Selection of hotel developer and requested
authorization to enter into negotiations with
developer for construction of hotel on Site 3
at Convention Center. City Mgr. authorized
to proceed with negotiations with consortium
comprised of Blake Construction Co., City
Financial Corp. and International Diversified
Construction Corp.

With respect to Hotel Site No. 3 on Meridian
Ave., City Mgr. reported that a financing prob-
lemhad arisen with firm with which Cushman &
Wakefield had been negotiating; therefore, Cush-
man & Wakefield were directed to stop negotia-
tions; however, prospective developer has re-
quested to come back into picture, and this will
be an item for the Hotel Advisory Committee to
consider.
