ANALYTICAL TECHNOLOGIES —Sr. Consultant/Technical Lead

Authored PowerBuilder application development architecture for Analytical
Technologies headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. The architecture was used to reduce
development time by taking advantage of PowerBuilder's inheritance feature and use of
predefined global functions. The architecture provided for application functionality
such as: security, login, open boxes, master -detail windows, and toolbar control.
Assisted Farm Bureau Insurance of Indianapolis, Indiana in defining their PowerBuilder
standards. Also provided technical troubleshooting and developed an internal
architecture for their application development. Work was done using PowerBuilder and
WATCOM.
Technical Lead during the analysis and design phases at Tenneco Gas of Houston Texas.
The new system was a conversion of an existing COBOL / CSP / DB/2 system running on
an IBM 3090. The new MDI based system produced billing invoices. This system
interfaced with four other corporate -wide systems to produce its results. The
Client/Server system was created using PowerBuilder running in Windows and Sybase
running on a Sequent server with UNIX as its operating system. All batch jobs were
performed using stored procedures and C++.
Project Manager and Technical Lead of the design and development effort. An MDI
based re -seller commission system was developed for Compaq Computer Corporation.
The system interfaced with other corporate -wide systems to calculate the revenue
created by sales representatives across the country. Commission amounts were paid on
these calculations and historical information was maintained for a three year period.
The system was developed using PowerBuilder running in Windows and Sybase running
on a Compaq System/Pro XL server with SCO UNIX as its operating system. The initial
release of this system was developed using Business Systems Group of Houston (BSG)
BluePrint architecture and development tool.
Performed the Technical Lead role providing assistance for the performance
improvement of the reseller information system. This system was used to manage the
large number of resellers, for Compaq Computer Corporation, from reseller application
processing through approval. The system was MDI based using PowerBuilder in
Windows and Sybase running on a Compaq System/Pro XL server with SCO UNIX as its
operating system.
Created two versions and assisted on a third to develop a seed unit placement system
for Compaq Computer Corporation. The seed unit program was devised to distribute
computers without charge to potential clients. This system was used to provide
complete support for the client including: customers, inventory, bar-coding, scheduling,
and shipping. The seed unit system was created using PowerBuilder in Windows and
Sybase running on a Compaq System/Pro XL server with SCO UNIX as its operating
system.
ERNST & YOUNG — Consultant
Houston, Texas — September, 1990 to November, 1992
• Designed a prototype oil and gas Client/Server application using PowerBuilder and
Sybase. This prototype was used as the Ernst & Young marketing tool for their
PowerBuilder business development.
• Participated in the PowerBuilder training program at Ernst and Young. We were trained
using PowerBuilder 1.0. PowerBuilder 2.0 beta was later distributed for internal study
and use on the prototype.

Created batch programs for the student loan management company Hemar of Saint
Paul, Minnesota. The system was created using KnowledgeWare's Gamma on an IBM
3090 running MVS/XA and DB/2. IEW, KnowledgeWare's CASE tool, was used as the
front-end development tool running on IBM PS/2 computers.
Created batch programs for Continental Airline's inventory control system using
KnowledgeWare's Gamma on an IBM 3090 running MVS/XA and IMS. The development
work took place directly on the mainframe without IEW.
Created batch programs for the airline food manufacturing company, Chelsea Catering
which is a subsidiary of Continental Airline. The system managed scheduling of food
preparation and distribution. Development of the programs for the system required the
use of COBOL on an IBM AS/400.
AMOCO CORPORATION — Programmer/Analyst

• Designed and created batch and on-line applications for the corporate purchasing
system. This system included corporate wide inventory, approved vendors, MRP
processing for assemblies, invoicing, and receiving. Development of the application
required COBOL (for batch programs) and ADS/O (for on-line programs) on an IBM 3090
running MVS/XA. The database used was IDMS/R.
