March, 2018
Hello- I understand that a position has opened up in the Committee on Affordable Housing.
would like to be considered for that position. I am a long time Miami Beach resident and have
watched our city evolve over the last 20 years. While some of the changes have been fantastic,
others have not. Affordable Housing here is one of the areas that I am concerned about. This
was a subject matter included in the Miami Beach Leadership Academy, which I participated in
this past Spring. I was heartened to hear that the City was focusing on the issue.
live in North Beach and really like the area, in part because it has a mix of housing and residents
that I feel make it a real neighborhood. With the price of housing continuing to climb, I do not
want to have this last area of affordable Miami Beach evolve into a high end enclave instead of a
real neighborhood. Thus my interest in working on the Committee.
Attached is my resume be advised there is nothing on it that would, in and of itself, relate
directly to neighborhood housing. But my passion is there and I have the time to devote to the
cause.
I look forward to discussing this in person.
