CHARTER REVIEW 'BOARD
The Miami Beach City Charter is equivalent to the State Constitution, establishing the 'City's form of
government, setting forth the powers and duties of the governing body, and generally providing for methods of
elections and Charter,enumerated officers.
Pursuant to Section 8.01 of the Miami Beach City Charter, review of the Charter shall occur every ten years.
Accordingly the Charter Review Board (CRB) has been formed for the purpose of reviewing the City Charter,
seeking public input thereon, and eventually presenting its recommendation to lhe Miami Beach City
Commission.
The' CRB has identified a number of issues to be discussed. The list of current issues is available at

The CRB at this time is seeking public input regarding the City Charter -- interested individuals may submit
suggestions to the CRB via email at Charterreview@miamibeachfl.gov, or by mail addressed to the City Clerk,
1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, FL, 33139, or via telefax at (305) 673--7254 to "Attention Charter
Review Board", or at any CRB meeting. A copy of the Miami Beach City Charter is available at

CRB meeting dates are:
Wednesday, April 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room, 4th floor, City Hall,
Tuesday, May 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Commission Chamber, 3rd floor, City Hall,
Tuesday, May 13, at 5:30 p.m. In the City Commission Chamber, 3rd floor, City Hall, and
Thursday, May 29, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Commission Chamber, 3rd floor, City Hall.
Additional meeting dates will be publicized as meetings are scheduled.
