Do YOU want to make a difference in YOUR City? Do you want YOUR voice heard?
The City of Miami Beach Charter Review Board wants YOUR comments and ideas.
As a City of Miami Beach resident, do YOU have any suggestions on how to change
YOUR City of Miami Beach government? The Charter Review Board wants YOUR
input.
The Miami Beach City Charter is equivalent to the State Constitution, establishing the
City's form of government setting forth the powers and duties of [YOUR] governing
body.
A review of the Charter occurs every ten years. It's YOUR opportunity to participate
in shaping the form of YOUR government.
The next meeting of the Charter Review Board is Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at 5:30 p.m.,
in the City Commission Chambers, 3rd floor, City Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive.
This meeting will be televised "live" on Miami Beach Governmental Channel 20.
TOPICS TO BE DISCUSSED
City Charter topics to be discussed on May 6 include the Citizens Bill of Rights por-
tion of the City Charter.
Are YOU interested in considering having a provision in the City Charter that prohibits
discrimination in any form? Are YOU interested in the Government in the Sunshine,
or requiring every City Department to prepare a Customer Service Plan, or adding a
Charter provision requiring City Government to preserve Miami Beach's natural
resource and protecting its scenic beauty, or ethical issues regarding YOUR elected
officials and civil servants?
These are some of the issues that will be discussed on May 6, 2003 at 5:30 p.m.
DoYOU have other ideas about YOUR City of Miami Beach government? Attend the
meeting.
