Dale Stine Committee Application Statement
Dec. 5, 2018
Having served on the LGBTQ Advisory Committee for several years, I am well-aware of
the goals, responsibilities and mission of city committees. For the last five years, I was
chair of the sub-committee which was responsible for procuring a perfect score on the
Human Rights Campaign's Municipality Equality Index.
I have been a full-time resident of Miami Beach since 2001 and opened my own
photography/arts/music business (HeartPrints, Inc.) in 2002. I am fully engaged in the
community; I am active in many arenas; I am an advocate for quality of life for all who
live here, for all who visit here and for all who do business here.
DALE STINE
Dale Stine views the photographic lens through his creative, academic and professional
experiences in the performing arts. A North Carolina native who obtained a Master’s Degree in
Opera from the world-renowned Juilliard School (NY), Dale enjoyed a 16-year run in many off-
Broadway productions. Never one to pass up an opportunity to flex various muscle groups, Dale
simultaneously pursued a dual career in personal training and fitness instruction, alongside his
acting, modeling and theater pursuits.
A self-taught shutterbug, Dale quickly established himself as one of those most sought-after
photographers in Miami. Since 2001, his photographs and images have graced countless
magazines, cd covers and websites. Internationally-acclaimed DJ’s, drag personas as well as
various politicos, businesspeople and entertainers are among his favorite clients., including many
who hire him to photograph interiors and exteriors of well-known restaurants and clubs in the
Miami area. Dale has been an official photographer for the internationally-acclaimed South
Beach Wine and Food Festival as well as having been involved with Aqua Girl, Miami Gay and
Lesbian Film Festival, Miami-Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, The National
LGBTQ Task Force, The Hub at the LGBT Visitor’s Center, Pridelines and Miami Beach Gay
Pride, to name a few. In addition to his photography, Dale is also involved with many of the
aforementioned organizations in a hands-on volunteer capacity. He is honored to sit on Mayor
Phil Levine's Miami Beach LGBTQ Advisory Committee, appointed by several commissioners in
the last six years.
Exhibitions have included The Diva Collection: Illusion Series, featured at the historic Royal
Palm Hotel during White Party, The Starlet Series at Miami Beach Cinematheque, Communion
Celebrates Art at the Bakehouse Art Complex, Decline in Civilization for Art Basel 2006 and A
Different Angle for Art Basel 2008. Dale was featured in the show Leaders, Legends & Lovelies
at Miami Beach's newly-renovated Deco Center in both 2010 and 2011. In 2012, he was one of
the four annual honorees at the same event, being awarded with Unity Coalition’s medallions.
Dale also photographed The DELICIOUS Campaign, an "icon-and-star-studded" happening in
conjunction with DINING OUT FOR LIFE, a national organization whose proceeds benefited
Care Resource in Southeast Florida.
In addition to his solo work, Dale works with Bob Gramatges as part of an artistic collaboration
known as GRAMSTINE. Their work has been seen in a number of galleries and exhibitions,
including Art Basel in 2015.
Musically speaking, Dale is currently the Director of Music Ministry at Unity on the Bay. Prior to
his two years in this position, he was the resident choir director. He performs regularly in the
Miami area and continues to travel as a guest artist.
“Whether it’s photography or music, my passion emanates from the same place. It’s all in the
phrasing, whether I’m singing it or seeing it.”
