Her expertise is in the travel, hospitality, real estate and arts and culture sectors. For the last 15 years, she has been Managing Partner at Biscayne Bay Group, a boutique advisory and investment firm. Over the years, she has been interviewed for her expertise in forums as diverse as The Wall Street Journal, Elle Decor and Latina magazines, and Univision and Telemundo. Prior to her own firm, Florencia honed her strategy and marketing expertise in roles at non -profits, academic institutions, start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. She regularly mentors start-ups and participates as a 10% entrepreneur. She was VP of Marketing and Business Development at viajo.com, the leading Latin American travel services company in the early internet days. Prior to that, Florencia worked in Member Relations at Visa and participated in the Ford Motor Company Marketing Leadership Program. Before business school, she was the first Hispanic Outreach Director at Crisis Intervention of Houston, a United Way agency. She also served for several years as the Undergraduate Director of Study Abroad at the University of St. Thomas. Florencia earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and an MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute, both at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics and Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX, where she was a Presidential Scholar. She also attended the Institution Robin in Vienne, France. Personally, while she has the travel bug, Florencia is proud to have put down roots in Miami Beach 16 years ago. She is an avid cheerleader for the city's business and cultural scene and is committed to helping shape the city's changing landscape, having emerged as a leader in many local arts, education and civic organizations. She is a longtime supporter of many local organizations, having served on and held leadership positions in numerous boards and committees over the years. Currently, she is the President of Friends of North Beach Elementary Board, the school's parent -run fundraising 501(c) 3. She is the immediate past Board Chair of Friends of the New World Symphony and former Trustee. She is a proud Founder of the Miami Book Fair's Literati Society and has helped other local organizations, such as YoungArts, NuDeco Ensemble, Bass Museum, PAMM, MOCA, Dance Now!, Fashionably Conscious. Previously, Ms. Jimenez -Marcos also served on the Boards of the Green Room Society of the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and the Wharton Club of South Florida.
