SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
Ben Mostkoff has been a resident of Miami Beach for 61 of his 64 years and grew up boating
on the waters of Biscayne Bay. From his early youth to present day, Ben spends most of his
recreational time on or under the coastal waters of Miami-Dade County. From 1981 to 1996
Ben initiated and coordinated all aspects of the Dade County Artificial Reef Program for the
Department of Environmental Resources Management. As a member of DERM’s
Restoration & Enhancement Section, Ben participated in the development of the original
Dade County Manatee Protection Plan. In 2001 Ben retired from public service and joined
the marine construction firm of Shoreline Foundation, Inc where he provides business
development services. Ben possesses an intrinsic understanding of complex environmental
issues which affect our marine resources, of the recreational needs of the boating public, and
the need for and impacts of regulations on the marine environment. This unique combination
of life experiences and professional exposure enables Ben Mostkoff to serve as a valued
member of the Marine Authority, the Waterfront Protection Committee.
