Jonathan Plutzik retired as a Vice-Chairman of Credit Suisse (CS),
in 2002, after a 24-year career. His responsibilities included Chairing
the firm's global financial institutions practice, heading the firm's
Washington DC investment banking activities, and leading the firm's
practice with State and local governments. He also led the firm's
financial advisory team that served New York City during its return to
the capital markets after the financial crisis.
From 2002 until its sale to Take Two Entertainment (NYSE: TTWO) in
2005, Jonathan served as Chairman of Firaxis Games, a leading
computer game development company and home of Civilization, the
internationally acclaimed computer strategy game.
Jonathan is currently Vice Chairman and member of the Executive
Committee of the Board of Directors of Fannie Mae where he C"?irs
the Risk Policy and Capital Commitment Committee and serves on
both the Strategic Initiatives and Technology and Compensation
Committees.
Jonathan and his family own the award winning luxury Betsy Hotel
(thebetsyhotel.com) on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. The Betsy, the
only Forbes four-star, AAA four-diamond boutique hotel in greater
Miami, has developed a global following in connection with its unique
community focused PACE (philanthropy, arts, culture and education)
programming. The hotel regularly collaborates with a wide variety of
national, regional, and local organizations, to create programming of
community and cultural interest. Widely cited as one of the world's
leading literary hotels, The Betsy's Writer's Room has welcomed over
700 writers in residence.

Jonathan Plutzik Day by Mayor and Commission in recognition of

Businesses partnering with the Arts and for "exceptional involvement
with the arts that enriches the workplace, education, and the
community".
2017 - Named Knight Arts Champion by Knight Foundation as one of
25 arts and civic leaders honored for "vision, courage and tenacity in
building Miami's cultural community".
Jonathan also served for a dozen years as Chairman of the Board of
the CORO New York Center, the city's leading public service
leadership training organization. In addition he has been active in
Jewish communal work including executive leadership with UJA-
Federation of NY (serving as a member of the Board and Executive
Committee and Chair of the Caring Commission, of UJA-Federation's
response to the financial crisis, the Connect to Care initiative, and of
UJA-Federation's Impact Committee, the initiative to develop a
rigorous metric based framework for philanthropic grant making. Most
recently he served as UJA's first General Planning Chair, a volunteer
position overseeing more than $100 million in annual grant making.
Jonathan has served for more than ten years on the board of Zara's
Center (zarascenter.org) his family's Zimbabwe based center for
AID's impacted children. In 2015, Jonathan became a founding
board member of Planet Word, a Washington, D.C.-b,ised museum
that is dedicated to and focused on Language Arts. He also serves
in various volunteer board level leadership positions relating to the
future of Miami Beach and Ocean Drive.
Jonathan received his B.A. from Brandeis University and M.B.A. from
the Wharton School. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign
Relations. Jonathan resides in Miami Beach with his wife Lesley
Goldwasser. They have two children, Zachary 28 and Rachael 25.
