I graduated from Program of Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design at Florida International University. During college I felt inspired to improve the quality of life in the urban areas of my country. I started by founding a chapter of the Student Association of Landscape Architects in order to represent the importance of our profession in resolving social and ecological issues at both the local and the global levels. Since most of the Association activities included public events, I have developed skills for collaboration with government institutions. This eventually became my passion. One of my professional experiences is the intern position at the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department of Miami-Dade County, where duties included research, creation of record drawings, gathering of field data, oversight of the construction of various projects and other related tasks. Proud to mention the green initiative I have started, where invasive Australian Pines will be recycled and used to build nature based playgrounds. Problem solving as part of a team effort is a valued asset in all professional fields and so I find it is invaluable in my work. I hope to be considered for the position and would truly appreciate this great opportunity.
