I am a Miami native who, after 12 years away from home, returned and settled in Miami Beach in 2013. I have been an urban cyclist for 15 years and have been advocating for safer pedestrian and cycling infrastructure since moving here. I helped provide input for the city's Bicycle Master Plan and have become more involved in bike-ped advocacy in the past year with Transit Alliance's Miami Beach chapter. I get around the city by bike, on foot and on public transit, and I also own a car, so I think I have a good understanding of the needs of people who use each of the different transportation modes.
