• Coordinated activities to improve the City’s Community Rating System score to reduce flood risks and help to
reduce insurance premium rates.
• Developed the City’s first Dune Management Plan that sets forth guidance and specifications to ensure the dunes
provide storm protection, erosion control, and a biologically rich habitat for local species.
• Managed the City’s partnership with Harvard University Graduate School of Design’s two-year design studio and
research – South Florida and Sea Level: Case Study Miami Beach.

• Managed the design, permitting and construction of the coastal connectors in the Atlantic Greenway Network
(AGN), a regional alternative transportation network.
• Secured and managed over $3.5M in Florida Department of Transportation and $1M in Florida Inland Navigation
District grant funding.
• Implemented the Beachfront Management Plan Agreement that includes issues such as maintenance responsibility,
beach renourshiment, concessionaire agreements, dune restoration, public access , and endangered sea turtle
protection.
• Supervised a staff of administrative, professional, and technical employees involved in environmental permitting,
grants management, regulatory inspections, plan review and construction management.

coastal habitat protection, stormwater pollution prevention, recycling awareness, water quality protection, and
